Before Enhancement Partial Enhancement Final Image
Subject: Pike's Parking Facility.         Location: Long Beach, CA.
Design by: Ehrenkrantz Eckstut & Kuhn Architects
Photo Technique:
This shot was made early in the day. Note the yellow fireplug. Also, the Grand Prix race banner hanging along the top of the round automobile ramp structure seriously detracts from the beauty of this fine example of modern-day architecture. It is not so obvious in this small photo, but when enlarged, it is truly ugly. And the whole structure appears to be leaning over backward.

Partial Enhancement: Evening shot with fireplug removed. That bright pole light on the right against the sky is a serious distraction. Also, one of the blue lights on the second level of the round car ramp is out. Furthermore, this area is very much over exposed. Making matters even worse, its overall lighting does not merge with the lighting on the main square parking building behind making it to appear to be an unattached and separate structure. And it is still leaning backward and to the left.
Final image: The fire plug has been removed. The Gran Prix race banner has been removed as well as the distracting pole light. The missing blue light has been replaced by cloning one of the others. The entire structure no longer leans backward and has been straightened. Two exposures were made, one for the round automobile ramp structure, and a second for the main parking garage behind. These were composited in Photoshop so that it is now more apparent that they are in reality one structure. Palm trees on the left were retained in this final image to frame the structure.
